The Texas State Senate, commends and applaud Noe Pro for his groundbreaking musical career
and his many cultural contributions to the state of Texas.
Senator Eddie Lucio presents Noe' with a proclamation from the state at the Capital in Austin, TX. Those who witnessed this great honor included his wife and four daughters as well as his brothers, friends, and other family members. A special thank you to Senator Eddie Lucio for being instrumental in making this proclamation possible.

Senate Resolution No. 57
Whereas, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Noe' Pro, an outstanding musician and a pioneer of Tejano music; and
Whereas, Born March 1, 1942, Noe' Pro began entertaining at a young age, singing for guests at family reunions when he was five and making his professional debut on a radio show in Corpus Christi at the age of nine; the thrill of performing and his passion for music continue to inspire his performances to this day; and
Whereas,with the dream of making a record and becoming famous, he took up the drums and later the guitar, fronting his own band when he was sixteen and performing at private parties and quinceaƱeras to great acclaim; and
Whereas,Drafted at 18, Noe' Pro served an 18-month tour of duty in Europe, where he found opportunities to play regularly in an enlisted men's club in Germany; he remembers often adding a few good Mexican ballads to his performances there; and
Whereas, After returning to Texas, he joined a small rock and roll band as vocalist and drummer, wrote many of his own songs, and made his first record in a small four-track studio in McAllen; his recordings were wildly popular and quickly made local radio top ten lists, leading to a distribution contract with Mercury Records which put him on the national charts; and
Whereas, In the early 1960s, Noe' was highly sought after for proms, dances, and functions throughout South Texas; adding more and more Latin music to his performances, he began to receive international recognition, toured the United States and Mexico, and participated in many song festivals, where he won numerous first-place awards; and
Whereas, A talented and versatile musician, Noe' Pro has inspired countless fans with his charming compositions and his expressive performances; with many of his biggest hits in Spanish, he opened the door for the thriving Tejano music industry of the 1960s and early 1970s; and
Whereas,At the top of the Mexican American music scene in the 1970s, Noe' Pro decided to stop touring so he could enjoy time with his family and live what he called a normal life; now a successful businessman, he continues to perform locally, and his recognizable style and fine voice still enthrall his many devoted fans; and
Whereas, With his long and memorable career, Noe' Pro has truly paved the way for countless other musicians and earned recognition as a forerunner of the vibrant Tejano music scene; now, therefore, be it
Proclaimed,That the Senate of the State of Texas hereby commend and applaud Noe' Pro for his groundbreaking musical career and his many cultural contributions to our state; and, be it further
Proclaimed, That a copy of this Proclamation be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
